July 27th

with special guests Sneaky Pete & The Secret Weapons

A legendary Jamaican reggae band, The Itals are still vital and bearing ripe fruit. Out of Savana La Mar, Jamaica, for many years Keith Porter and The Itals have been one of the hardest working reggae acts on the road sharing their messages of love and oneness around the world since the early 1980s. Now with 11 albums to their name including Grammy nominated Rasta Philosophy (Ital Music, 1986), The Itals are touring with two new albums Mind Over Matter and Let’s Get It On (both Ital Music, 2015). Over the years Keith Porter has been accompanied by a variety of reggae artist and currently tours with two of his children Darien and Kada Porter who provide excellent harmonies to the great Rasta sounds focused on positivity, love and harmony. “Temptation is a thing trying to keep me away from Jah glory. I love, I love, I love – Jah glory.” When The Itals hit the Lander LIVE stage, “Jah glory” will be in full effect.

Sneaky Pete & The Secret Weapons

Opening the evening will be Sneaky Pete & The Secret Weapons, a Jackson Hole, Wyoming based “mountain funk” band. Starting in late 2011 friends Jack Tolan (guitar, vocals) and Sam Lowenthal (bass) came together with the vision of “making funk noises” and began pulling together the rest of their “secret weapons” taking their performances on the road and developing a reputation for high-energy, sweaty dance floor music fun. The band has released two albums, Breakfast (2014), and Dojo (2016). In addition to Tolan and Lowenthal, SPSW is Bobby Griffith on trumpet, Galen Karnatz on keyboards, and Phil Walker on drums. By the time SPSW hit the Lander LIVE stage they’ll have some new tracks ready from their new album recorded on the banks of Wyoming’s Hoback River.
